Dear CCSF Community:
On Monday, March 11, 2013, from 6:45pm 12:30am, CCSF Mission Center will be celebrating the welcoming of the Mexika New Year Ce Calli (One House)! The Mexika New Year is a great time to reflect on the ancient Aztec traditions. This years celebration marks the third year that the event has been held in the Mission Center (1125 Valencia Street) to reunite people from different tribes, in addition to the community and to embrace the culture. There will be food, drinks, crafts for sale, as well as special guests.
Please note that part of Valencia Street will be closed from 6:45pm to 8:00pm, however there will be access to the parking garage for our employees only. The street will be monitored and directed by CCSF Campus Police, as well as the San Francisco Police Department. Please keep this in mind and allow yourself extra time if you are commuting to work that evening.
Additionally, from 8:00pm to 11:45 the ceremony will move to the Mission Center Courtyard for more entertainment. Although the celebration should not effect the classes occurring during these times, you may hear some of the celebration noise coming from the courtyard.
Your attendance and participation at this event will demonstrate to the community that the District supports our CCSF students and community who celebrate this important day!
We hope to see you all there!
Dean Jorge Bell
